Hanna Trailer

I'm in for anything with Cate Blanchett & Saoirse Ronan. Add Joe Wright, and I'm there on opening day.

I have yet to see The Soloist, but I loved the way he brought Pride and Prejudice and the tricky Atonement to life with such confidence.

Hanna is quite a departure in tone for him, and quite a role for Saoirse Ronan - part Nel, part Kick Ass. And I may have mentioned I'm always in for anything starring Cate Blanchett.

Great news. Noah Baumbach has fallen out of favour since his adored debut, The Squid and the Whale, but to me his films are always an event.

Ben Stiller & James Franco are an intriguing combo for the, presumably, maturity-stunted leads & anything with Cate Blanchett is worth seeing (her only previous collaboration with Baumbach is one of her most underratedly hilarious performances, in Wes Anderson's The Life Aquatic with Steve Zisssou, which Baumbach co-wrote).

Greta Gerwig was great in Baumbach's most recent Greenberg (below).

Shirley Adams Trailer

From director Oliver Hermanus, the lovely trailer for latest from Dv8 & Centropolis.

Beautifully scored and shot, and Denise Newman's performance looks gritty, brittle & epically soulful.

Indie cinema at it's best - for some reason this reminds me of Vera Drake. Certainly it's not the plot or the period, but perhaps the quietly observed, slightly tragic character hiding at the centre of the plot, and probably the title implying that the character is the real story behind the story.

This First Official Trailer is the best. Shows just enough, but not too much.

Loving Michael Sheen as the Bowie-a-like & that Daft Punk score is highly effective.

All this is very promising.

My first blog post - Awesome Black Swan Posters

For my very first blog post, I am going to post these awesome posters for Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan. I have been so very much looking forward to it first entered my blogconscious.

I love the different fonts. Wonder if they'll use these for general distribution.
